We are dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive conference experience for everyone. Collaborate Bristol is committed to creating an environment free from harassment, bullying, victimisation or exclusion, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, pregnancy, race, age, social background, nationality, financial situation, religion or belief, or any other factor.

We do not accept harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks. Conference participants infringing these rules may be expelled from the conference without a refund or notice at the discretion of the conference organisers.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to, verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate or unwanted physical contact, invasion of personal space, standing inappropriately close to someone and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately.

Exhibitors in the exhibition hall, sponsors or similar activities are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, exhibitors should not use sexualised images, activities, or other material which might cause offence i.e. misuse of religious imagery. Booth staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualised clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualised environment.

If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, the conference organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the conference [with no refund]. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of conference staff immediately. Conference staff can be identified by t-shirts and/or badge. Harassment, bullying, victimisation or exclusion must not be ignored and will be investigated and dealt with as a matter of urgency.

Conference staff will be happy to help delegates contact hotel/venue security or local police, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference. We value your attendance.
