Talk details

Collaboration needs good communication

A lot of the work of a UX-er is communication. And that’s not something we often learn about in design school or in design training courses.

Our roles are inherently collaborative, so how do we do good or better collaboration? In our work, we need to facilitate decision making among diverse groups, communicate to leadership, teams and users, facilitate meetings and workshops, and get colleagues to work to similar standards. It’s really hard!

Kara will share examples of how communication, collaboration and community have supported complex Government Digital Service and cross-government work, and share tips for how you and your team can become better communicators.
